Do you know what your divine des­tiny is?  Per­haps you are a babe in Christ. You’ve recently accepted Jesus into your heart, and declared him LORD over your life. Now what?

Maybe you’ve been born again and saved for a while. Years.  Even decades. And you still aren’t sure what it is God wants you to do or which direc­tion to go.

Maybe, you sense in your spirit that God is call­ing you to some­thing new, and you’d like a clearer pic­ture of what that is.  Here are 7 Steps you can take to dis­cover your divine destiny:

1 — Ask – Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7

You can start by ask­ing! The Lord WANTS us to come to him for everything.

He wants us depend­ing on him, lean­ing on him, speak­ing to him and ask­ing. Mat. 7:7 says when we ask, it will be given.

Besides, why would our Father deny telling us this when it is the very rea­son we are here? Just when we ask, we must expect an answer!

2 — Adhere to Vision — Being that Jesus is Lord over our lives, we are anointed for a spe­cific pur­pose and task — there­fore he will give us rev­e­la­tory vision.

Not nec­es­sar­ily a super­nat­ural, out of this world, sparks-everywhere vision, but he will tell us his plans for us.

Whether it is his still small voice, a men­tal pic­ture, a spirit rev­e­la­tion, or some­thing that came to us in a dream, God will reveal it.  Our job is to believe and receive and wait for the next step.…

3 — Per­sonal Inven­tory — What are your skills? Gifts and tal­ents? Expe­ri­ence?  What is your per­son­al­ity like? We are a dynamic and unique com­pi­la­tion of all these things ordained for a purpose.

It would be wor­thy to take a per­sonal inven­tory of all these aspects of our­selves and assess what kind of work/ministry God might have for us.

If you don’t think you have any gifts or tal­ents — that’s not true! — ask peo­ple that know you and love you and you will be surprised!

4 — Hear the Word of God – Faith comes by hear­ing, and hear­ing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

Every time we hear scrip­ture, the Word of God, we are super­nat­u­rally empow­ered with faith.

The more faith we have, the more we expect, antic­i­pate, and trust that God is doing some­thing in our lives, the less chances we lose hope and give up.

Hear­ing the Word can come from attend­ing church ser­vices, group and indi­vid­ual bible study, or any other means of hear­ing the Word of God pro­claimed and taught.

5 — Be Spirit-led — This is a very impor­tant step.

As we have learned from those in the bible, when God tells us his pur­pose for our lives, when he gives us vision and rev­e­la­tion, we like — oh we love! — to pur­sue it on our own and out of our own might.

But that’s not the way it works! God will make it hap­pen in his own time, in his own way.

The Holy Spirit is within us to guide and lead us — to let us know when we are going in the wrong direc­tion. Ignor­ing the Holy Spirit can cost us years out of the will of God, and much more time in the wilder­ness…

Prayer and fast­ing would empower us in the right direc­tion, as that’s what Jesus did for 40 days and 40 nights on the road to his epic and divine des­tiny  Matthew 4.

6 — Await Con­fir­ma­tions — I just love to receive con­fir­ma­tions from God and I’m sure you do too! It’s such an empow­er­ing moment when we’ve heard some­thing from God, and at a later time he sends us the same mes­sage but by another means.

I’ve received con­fir­ma­tions with­out ask­ing for them, as well as when I’ve asked for them.

God can use peo­ple, places, things, movies, songs — vir­tu­ally any­thing that con­firms in our spirit what he’s told us before. Such a great moment!

7 — Stay Prayer­ful — It’s impor­tant to stay con­nected to God along our jour­ney to divine des­tiny. To remain prayer­ful when hard­ships come up and when things start to not make sense. And that will happen.

When the enemy sends doubt our way, and con­fuses us, stay­ing prayer­ful will keep us on track.

God will ordain times when our divine des­tiny doesn’t seem to be unfold­ing, just to test our faith and expec­ta­tion to what he’s told us.

Stay­ing prayer­ful will keep us strong and committed.

When we draw near to God, he will draw near to us James 4:8.  When we dwell in the secret place of the most high, we will abide under the shadow of the Almighty Ps. 91:1

Dis­cov­er­ing your divine des­tiny is an excit­ing and thrilling moment! I pray you dis­cover it and it comes to pass to the Glory of God and the uplift­ing of his kingdom!
